As Women, our tendency is to look after everyone else's needs, putting our own needs last on the list.
By the time you're in your 50's, you've been caring for others a long time! Why not be as good to yourself, as you are to others? Here are 4 ways to Self Care for beauty after 50.
5. A getaway weekend -
~One of my best Self Care tips is simply to give yourself something to look forward too. This really works for me. A getaway is one way to accomplish this. The idea is to be away from work, in a place that someone else is doing the dishes, and you don't have to think about anything except relaxation. Recharge your batteries with a Stay-Away.
6. Get a Make-over
~Perhaps you're someone who doesn't like to wear much make up. Or, you could be like me...I've been wearing my make up the same why for about 25 years! Treat yourself to any hour make up lesson with a good make up artist. A licensed one preferably. You can go to the department store and have someone from the cosmetics counter apply make up, but take it from someone who has worked in the beauty industry for 35 years, you'll get a much better outcome from a licensed professional--Think it's time for me to follow my own advice!
Three years ago, I decided to have individual eyelashes applied before a wedding I was attending. I loved the way the lashes defined my eyes...I've been wearing them ever since. I even apply them myself!
7. Read the ingredients of the products you use -
~Pick up that bottle of pink lotion from Bath and Body Works, and read the label! Guess what? You don't need red dye in your body lotion! You don't need synthetic fragrances either. A key part of self care is to be aware of what we put on and in our body. If you ever wonder why your skin reacts badly to certain products, it's usually because of artificial dyes and fragrances.
We pride ourselves at Parisian's Pure Indulgence that we only use the finest ingredients, mostly certified organics.
Keep what you put on your skin - the largest organ of your body - pure and natural. Our treatments at Parisian's Pure Indulgence are safe enough, for Women who are undergoing radiation treatments for cancer. Here is a letter from one of these clients.
8. Spiritual Self Care -
~The most important! Spiritual self-care is the activity we engage in to find and nurture a sense of connection to a Higher Power and meaning for our lives. Just as it is essential to nurture your body with food, it is necessary to nurture your soul with spirit. Prayer is my way of connecting to God. Serving others is the way I use my spiritual gifts.
Mind, body, and Spirit...how are you caring for yours?
I'm saving this blog post. When I turn 50 I will be pulling it out and checking off my list. Great tips for any age!
